Volunteer to Help Chimps
Here are some good ways to start volunteering:
Volunteer at a Chimp Sanctuary in the US. Volunteer on-site at a sanctuary for chimps released from labs or the entertainment industry. If there isn’t one nearby, offer to help with projects that can be done from home, or by traveling to a sanctuary to volunteer for a month or more.
Volunteer at a Chimp Sanctuary in Africa. A number of sanctuaries in Africa accept volunteers, some for as little as one week but most for periods of several weeks or months. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, go to:
Be a zoo docent, and teach others about chimps and other primates.
Start a Roots & Shoots group in your community. Jane Goodall”s Roots & Shoots, the Jane Goodall Institute’s environmental and humanitarian youth program, is a powerful, youth-driven network of tens of thousands of members in more than 120 countries. Together, youth from pre-K through college are taking action to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment.
